Canada plans to phase out the fungicide phenoxyquinoline

The Department of Health's Pest Management (PMRA) in Canada will gradually eliminate the registration of phenoxyquinol and the registration of the Quintec fungicide (active ingredient: phenoxyquinoline). Phenoxyquinoline meets the standards for Track 1 substances under the Toxic Substances Management Policy (TSMP). PMRA requires the following implementation schedule to phase out the use of phenoxyquinol and Quintec bactericides on a variety of fruit and vegetable crops.

 

Deadline for the registration of the registered holder: June 30, 2019;

Retailer sales deadline: June 30, 2020;

Deadline for users to use: June 30, 2021.
